Girls have so many areas of their appearance to take care of that they can go crazy: hair, makeup, fitness, skin… It is true that sometimes it may seem like a lot of hard work, but at the end of the day it makes you feel better about yourself and more confident, when you portray yourself in the best possible way. The key thing is to learn how to achieve best results with minimum effort. Taking care of your face properly might result in you needing a lot less makeup! However, there are some things that we neglect once in a while and our nails and hands are among them. Our hands are easily noticed, though, so do not ignore taking care of them.
Here are a few useful tips:
The choice of hand wash should not be too random. For instance, go for a creamy hand wash with nourishing abilities: the ones with almond or coconut milk or tea tree oil will keep your skin moisturized and soft. You will need it especially if you wash lots of dishes at home! Avoid the ones that say “antibacterial” on the label since they contain harsher chemicals and may dry out your hands further.
As with your hair and body, extreme temperatures of water can be very harsh for your hands too. Using very cold and very hot water dries them and they will get rough in time. It also causes redness. Lukewarm water is the perfect choice!
When choosing your hand cream, go for the ones that contain oils. Oils are perfect for hydrating and keeping your skin in good condition, so choose a product that contains sunflower seed oil, coconut oil or something similar.
Do not ignore your cuticles! They form a key aspect of your hands’ appearance. Manicure would look bad if cuticles are torn and dry. Do not cut them since that might lead to an infection. It is better to push them and nourish them with a cuticle product. Before that do not forget to exfoliate!
If you are a fan of using a sanitizer during the day, it is best to moisturize your hands after you use one. The harsh chemicals and alcohols in it dehydrate skin and nails and make your nail polish chip easier and faster.
Sunscreen is also important! Hands are neglected when it comes to protection of harmful UV rays, so when you apply the product to your face, apply it on your hands too, so that you do not forget.
You can see it is not hard to take care of your hands, as long as it turns into a habit!
