Everyone of us had these moments in their life when they had nothing to do. During the week we cannot wait for the weekend to come to relax and do whatever we want to do, but when the weekend actually comes we start wondering what to do, then lie all day in bed and when the new week comes we feel like we did nothing, which, to be honest, is not a lie. So, next weekend when you wake up in the morning, pour yourself a big cup of strong coffee and get to work, figuratively. Here are some ideas that may inspire you to fill in your spare time with useful things.
When was the last time you opened a book and were really excited by it? The last summer vacation in school? You could not wait to read it to know what will happen in the end, and when you do you felt sad that there is no more of it. When you wonder what to do why do not you just grab a book, one of those that are waiting for you to open them and jump into their magical life. This way not only you will feel good, but also your brain, and you will feel productive.
2. Meet your neighbors
One of times when people remember they have neighbors is when there is no electricity when it it still daytime and people cannot watch TV or use the Internet. They get so bored that they decide to have a talk with their neighbors who obviously are not busy at the moment. So, why do not you do the same thing when you have nothing to do. Bring them some homemade cookies or a cup of coffee, and you will see that you will make their day better. And the best part is that if you have some problem you can ask your neighbors for help. It is always good to be close to your neighbors.
3. Clean your closet and all the things you do not need
Is your apartment full of things you do not need some of which stay there because you may need them in the future? This is a very common case. A lot of people do not like throwing their stuff because they have either some sentimental value, or because they might need them in the future. It could be an old discount coupon that has expired months ago but you still keep it, or a book that you had borrowed from a friend and you forgot about it, even some clothes that does not fit you anymore but you keep. It is good to do this from time to time, and you will see how better you will feel after throwing things you do not need.
4. Organize your own walking tour
Are you one of those people who are not willing to take risks in their lives and just prefer to wait for their family and friends to do some things for them? If you have never done any trip on your own, then it is time to do it. Get a map of your town or city and the surrounding villages. Go somewhere you have never been before so that you can see you can do things by yourself. Another advantage of going on such a trip is that you can relax, be just with your thoughts and decide whether you want to think about something or not.
5. Learn the basics of a foreign language
Learning a foreign language is one of the best and most productive ways to spend your spare time. Knowing foreign languages will be such an advantage to you no matter whether you start a new job, or go somewhere on vacation. You can really expand your knowledge of languages. The good news is that there are so many free online lessons, teach yourself textbooks, movies, songs, that you can become fluent if you have enough time, or if you take this learning serious. You can also expand your knowledge of a language you already know by finding a person who is a native speaker of the language, and you can talk to each other, or just chat. The more you practice the better. Another very productive activity for filling up spare time.
