A lot of people think that love would come naturally and you do not have to force it, and probably they are right, but sometime even nature needs a little push. If you are in a relationship, you should work for it so that you and your partner to stay in love and never want to break up. The good news is that you can do this easily by just following these 4 steps to a successful relationship.

Step 1: Do not forget that you are the only person who should work for their happiness

A lot of women think that when they find the right guy their job to work for their own happiness is over. And here is where they make a mistake. You should remember that you are the only one who is responsible for their own happiness. Do not expect your partner to do all the things for you, like pay attention to you all the time, bring you flowers or small presents every day, and so on. There is also another thing you should remember, do not expect to do all the things in your life together, and this means really, really every single thing. If you have a hobby that is different from your partner’s, do not make them join you, or do not give your hobby up so that you could spend more time with them. This is one of the things that can make a relationship stronger – to have one or two things that you do not do together. Give yourselves some freedom, and do not think that this will mean that you two do not love each other, on the contrary, you will love each other even more.

Step 2: Domestic violence ≠ Love

Unfortunately, domestic violence is one of the biggest problems women have at home. It does not include only physical assault, but also a psychical one. Some women tend to think that this is normal and do not do anything about it to prevent it. In many of the cases, children are also the ones who suffer from it. Remember that this is not normal. Do not let anyone treat you in the way that you not only do not deserve, but it could even reflect on your physical and emotional health. Do not let your partner play with your mind and make you believe that he loves you. If this is happening in your home, tell your best friends and family, they will protect you. Remember that both partners should have equal rights in the relationship. No one should make the other do things they do not want to do and feel bad about. After all, relationships are all about love and never violence, so have this in mind.

Step 3: Admit that you are not perfect

As much as we hate to admit it, we are not perfect, and nobody is. Not you, not your partner, and we should be able to accept this. No matter how hard we try, sometimes we just ruin everything. All people know that there are always quarrels in a relationship, and if you want these small things not to ruin your relationship you should compromise. When you realize that you have been wrong and your partner has been right in the argument that you had, just admit it. The next time when you are right and he/she is wrong, they will have to admit it. This is a very effective way to save your relationship, because there will always be problems and you have to learn how to deal with them, step by, and accepting the fact that mistakes and problems are part of our life.

Step 4: Be careful not to be misunderstood

We often love to tease one another when we are in a relationship. But sometimes our jokes which have no hidden meaning in them and are definitely not offense-intended. “Silly you”, “You are an idiot, but I still  love you”. If you keep telling your partner such things, you can be absolutely sure that there is a pretty big chance you can get in a fight. People do not like somebody telling them bad words and at one point they just get mad. So you should be careful not to overdo it, even if there are no hard feelings, your partner will start getting annoyed by this. Learn to tell your partner sweet, but not cheesy names, show your love with gestures as well. Romantic gestures are the key to a successful relationship, so try it!
