More Than Just a Half Updo

Sometimes the simplest hairstyles can look fancy and gorgeous. Today I want to show you how to make a half updo, but it is not so simple as it sounds. Follow the steps and make sure that you have these tools and products:

  • Hair spray;
  • Stylizing mousse;
  • Thermal protector;
  • Dry shampoo (if needed);
  • Curling iron;
  • Teasing comb;
  • Hair brush;
  • Bobby pins.

And now we can start with the actual work.

  • So, your stuff is all around you. Your first job is to check the condition of the roots. If they are greasy, you’ll have to remove the oils with dry shampoo or quick hair shower. Choose the option which will save you more time, because we have a lot more work to do.
  • The next step requires the application of two hair products – apply the thermal protector and the stylizing mousse to the top layer of the hair. The thermal protector will prevent damage from the curling iron and the stylizing mousse will hold the curly texture of the hair for long time.
  • Then take the curling iron and curl the whole top layer of the hair. Wrap the strand around the wand into a spiral way and twist the strand a little bit. We are not aiming for flat curls.
  • Then take the bangs section of hair and twist it into loose bun. Attach on top of the head with bobby pins.
  • Do the same with the next section of curled hair – twist and roll at the back of the head. Secure with bobby pins.
  • Remember to tease the section at the roots before you twist them in order to create nice and thick volume.
  • Wrap the buns with a few thin strands and secure them with bobby pins.
  • Spritz the hair with a hair spray in order to secure the hairstyle even better.

Enjoy the look!
