Every girl wants to have long, full lashes that will make her eyes the center of attention. Unfortunately, it‘s very hard to have the lashes of a magazine cover‘s model without Photoshop or the popular false lashes. Even though your lashes can‘t become as long as the false ones, there are some tricks to make them look longer, thicker and darker and, most importantly, make them the main topic for the night!
The first thing you can do is apply any kind of natural oil to your lashes every night before you go to sleep. Oils have the same effect on your lashes like on your hair – they make them longer and thicker. Apply the oil with finger or a cotton ball and rinse with water in the morning.
Then, when it‘s time to apply makeup, curl your lashes with a lash curler or a cold spoon. Curling your lashes is essential for making them look like false ones. This is especially important if you don‘t have naturally curled lashes because if you don‘t do it, after you apply the mascara your lashes won‘t curl and will make your eyes very sad and tired looking.
The next step is to apply mascara. Before that, you have to know your mascara well. Like every other product, mascaras have different types according to the lashes you have. Choose wisely the product you need whether you have straight, long, short, thin or any other kind of lashes. This is important because every type of mascara has a different wand and the wand is what makes your lashes look the way they do.
Okay, so you curled your lashes and found the perfect mascara. Now is the time to apply it. Apply a thin coat of mascara on both top and bottom lashes. Don‘t forget the bottom and be extra careful to apply just the right amount of product – otherwise it will smudge and make you look like a panda. After the first coat, wait for several minutes until if dries completely before you apply the other coats. I like to comb my lashes gently with a brow comb so they don‘t stick together and look more natural. Of course, that‘s completely optional and you can skip this step.
Apply the second (or more) coat of mascara, again on both lashes. This time you can use a bit more product and pay extra attention to the outer corners of your eyes – this way your eyes will look as if you have false lashes on, which is our main goal. Again, you can comb your lashes to remove excessive product,
Use a Q-tip to clean any smudges, especially under your lower lashes. They can appear if you blink too fast soon after you have applied the mascara and it‘s not dry yet.
The last thing you can do is to take your eye shadow palette, choose a highlighter and apply it in the inner corners of your eyes. This way, the highlighter will reflect light and make your eyes look bigger and brighter. This, in combination with the makeup, will make your lashes look as if you just put some falsies on and you are ready for the night!
