Makeup Mistakes You Might Be Making Every Morning

I don’t know if you are a morning person, but I doubt it: most of us have a hard time getting up in the morning and preparing for a tough day at university, school or work. We all know how much there is to do in the morning: shower, fix your hair and makeup, pick an outfit, not to mention having some breakfast (a healthy meal is always helpful!) and coffee and check what the day has in store for you.

When it comes to doing your makeup in the morning, there might be quite a few things you might be doing wrong. Unfortunately, these mistakes have an impact on your whole appearance during the day and you might not even notice them until it is too late. Take a look at the possible mistakes you are making and try to prevent any bad surprises when you look yourself in the mirror during the day!

  • If you are doing your makeup in bad, artificial light, there is a huge possibility that it will not good as well when you go out. Bad lighting can influence the way you see colors. The best possible solution is to be as close to natural daylight while you are applying your makeup. You can put your mirror near a window or even go out on the balcony, if you have one! Just do not do your makeup in the bathroom, for instance. You may miss uneven foundation, too much eyeshadow or bronzer or any other mistake you have made.
  • You might be applying too much foundation. Do not fool yourself: full coverage of your skin will not solve your skin problems. On the contrary, it may further irritate your skin, especially if you do not clean it thoroughly at the end of the day. Start with a little concealer in your under-eye area or around your nose. This will help hide any hyper pigmentation. Also, just take good care of your skin and do not hide under tons of foundation. Be more natural: it is more appealing! Besides, everyone will notice how much makeup you are wearing.
  • Applying too much bronzer or blush can look fake and over-the-top too. Try to keep it simple, especially for a day-look. Apply just one or two light strokes of the products to sculpt your cheekbones, but leave your face as natural as possible. Strong contouring and blush are better for night out because of the weaker lighting. When you are going to work or school, you do not want to look as if you are going to a club!
