The Winter Dress

There is one piece of clothing that suits every woman and that’s the dress! A dress can make your body slimmer and taller, enhance your waist and give your look an elegant and feminine feel. Some women think that dresses are more appropriate for spring and summer, than fall and winter because they don’t really keep you warm and are not that comfortable when you have battle with the elements. This is everything, but true and I am here to tell you why!

When you think of a dress your first thought is something relatively short, made from a soft and light material that you wear on formal occasions. But a dress can be so much more than that! First of all, every season has its patterns and materials and like every other piece of clothing in your wardrobe, dresses also change their materials depending on what season it is. That’s why dresses in winter are made from velvet, wool and other thick material that will keep you warm and comfortable at the same time. Also, even if the length of the dress stays the same in summer and winter, you can cover your legs by wearing a thick pair of leggings or stockings that will complete your look and make it even more winter-ready!

Winter dresses are amazing for layering with thick scarves and coats. You take a simple black wool dress with a V-neck and add to it some over the knee socks, a thick infinity scarf, your favorite pair of boots and a coat in a trendy color like maroon, burgundy, grey or red. You have immediately transformed a boring dress into a stylish outfit with the help of a few accessories. If you think you will be cold with a V-neck, try a dress with a big turtle neck and layer it with a chunky necklace or a brooch.

No matter that it’s winter you should always bring some color to your outfit and what better way to do it than wearing a colorful dress! Mustard, red, burgundy and navy – all trendy colors that will go with your black coat or boots and will instantly take your outfit to the next level. Add a statement necklace to a round neck red dress, put on a pair of thick black tights and some black high heels and gather your hair in a classy updo – this is the perfect festive look for the winter holidays and you can always change it by adding some scarf or a cardigan, changing the jewelry or choose boots over high heels.
